Biography

Kye is an Adjunct Professor w/CCE and has taught at Pratt since 1986. He teaches in Foundation Art and in the Pre-College program. An illustrator from 1979 to 1992, Kye’s work appeared on the New York Times op-ed page, on the covers of many book jackets, in national magazines, and was featured in major advertising campaigns. In 1992 Kye returned to his first passion: painting. Since, his abstract works have been exhibited widely and are in many private and corporate collections.

Self described as “marriage(s) of mark, division and color”, Kye’s color abstractions investigate notions of two-dimensional space and color phenomenology.
