Biography

Post graduate work: Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio; Fellowship:Ecole Des Beaux-Arts,Paris, student of Maurice Brianchon; work towards Doctorat at Sorbonne with Andre Chastel; Studied painting with Edwin Dickinson at Art Students League after service in US Army 1954-6; Designed sets for Off- and Off-Off Bway theater productions. Member of United Scenic Artists: work on many theater productions for NYCity Ballet, NYCity Opera,NBC TV, many feature films. Exhibited as painter in a number of galleries and museums. Listed in Who’s Who in American Art

Taught at Swain School of Design, New Bedford,MA; Queens College (CUNY), Staten Is.Comm.College, Pratt Institute 1967-present

Several recent visits to the Southwest US provided moving images of eroding landscapes used in my paintings as visual metaphors of man’s transient presence on the planet.
