He is an excellent craftsman and imaginative inventor”. Professor Zakarian received his BFA from Pratt Institute and later developed a passion for sculpture after returning to receive his Masters Degree. The works are interactive and made of a variety of materials from clay to stainless steel, and employ a range of techniques from mold making and casting to CNC machining. His sculptures have been exhibited at the Royal Marks Gallery, Alan Stone Gallery, the Riverside Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, The Milwaukee Art Center, The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the eDavid Gallery. Reviews and press articles have appeared in Arts, The New York Herald Tribune and The New York Times. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Teacher Award, Pratt Institute, 2006. |
