Biography

Deborah has worked for over twenty years in film and television, as an art director, editor, director, writer, and producer. Her documentary productions have explored subjects ranging from traditional Irish dance, to bull-riding cowboys, to the painter Wayne Theibaud. She has also produced and directed numerous short films for clients including: The BBC, The Whitney Museum, PBS, Steelcase International, and Tribune Entertainment. Her own short films and videos have been exhibited around the world on television and in festivals, galleries, and museums in Europe, Japan, and throughout North America.

Professor Meehan has also taught film and television production, film studies, and photography at: The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, The University of Oklahoma, The School of Visual Arts, and William Paterson University.

Deborah is also a Co-Founder and Co-Director of The Pratt Film Society, which has presented: visiting filmmakers Albert Maysles, Nathaniel Kahn, Warhol Foundation Film Curator Callie Angell, and over 75 film presentations.
