Previous Classes:
*All classes depend on enrollment and may include:
Architecture Design Basics Ages 9-11
This class will introduce students to the principles of design such as: shape, balance, harmony and rhythm. Through hands-on projects, students will discover and explore the process of design from brainstorming and sketching to model making and production.
Toy Design Ages 11-12
Students will explore both two- and three-dimensional design through the investigation of toy design and story construction. Projects will allow students to investigate formal elements and principles of design while they practice various construction techniques.
Textile Design Ages 11-13
Students will explore various aspects of textile creation, such as: hand and loom weaving, fabric dying and printing, felting, knitting, sewing and patterning. Projects will allow students to investigate how raw materials, like yarn and fabrics, become finished products.
Graphic Design Ages 13-14
Using traditional and digital tools, students will explore concepts of graphic design such as typography, logo design and advertising through individual and collaborative projects. Students will confront real-world design challenges and will use computers and software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
