Biography

Ms. Stoel is a writer and designer based in Brooklyn, NY. She currently works at Rogers Marvel Architects and also pursues her own independent projects and research. Her work focuses on creating performative, project-specific, and sustainable relationships between interior and exterior, and ranges in type and scale from interiors to landscapes and public art.

In February 2011, she was selected as a semi-finalist in the National Ideas Competition for the Washington Monument Grounds. Her proposal for a National Floodpark on the site showcases a proactive response to the issue of increased flooding from global warming on a national stage, in the heart of Washington, DC.

She has been a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Interior Design Department at Pratt Institute since 2009 and also teaches architecture at New York Institute of Technology. She has taught graduate-level architecture studio at Parsons and Career Discovery at Harvard University. She is a contributor to ArchitectureBoston magazine and is a Project Editor at PRAXIS Journal of Writing and Building.
