Biography

Linda Celentano's prestigious design awards include the IDEA Award, featured in Business Week Magazine, the ID Annual Design Awards, The Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Awards and the Metropolitan Home Modernism Awards for 2003 and 2004. Her designs have been included in The Cooper-Hewitt National Museum of Design and the Chicago Athenaeum's permanent collections, Bloomindales's 100 Years of Design Excellence, Gallery 91, Fellisimo, Moss, The Whitney Museum's Store Next Door, The MoMA Store, The Cooper-Hewitt National Museum exhibition on Feeding Desire and many more. Linda Celentano's Designs have reached national and international recognition in many publications such as in Craine's New York, the cover of ID Magaize's Annual Design Review, The New York Times, Time Out Magazine as well as numerous internationally acclaimed design books. Linda's work includes designing Tabletop, Housewares, Eyeware, consumer Products, Cosmetic and Surgical and Device Instrumentation for a wide range of companies for Nambe, Rosenthal, Alessi, Salton, Corning, Dansk, Copco, Estee Lauder, Perscriptives, Knoll, Oxo, Donna Karen, Black and Decker, Stryker Corporation and Ace Orthopedics. Linda studied abroad with the summer design program In Copenhagen and Pratt Institute under Dr. William Fogler and Rowena Reed Kostellow where she is now teaching Dr. Fogler's class in Three Dimensional Design. She holds numerous patents and was instrumental in creating the Rowena Reed Kostellow Fund. Prior to becoming and independent designer, Linda designed for Smart Design in New York City.
