Dr. Katarina V. Posch is professor of design history and theory, and specializes in cross-cultural topics. Her courses include “History of Industrial and Interior Design,” “Aspects of Japanese Design”, “Concepts of Design,” and “Exhibitions Now”. She serves at numerous committees, and supervises Master theses in the field of design history. Prof. Posch has done extensive curatorial and advisory work throughout Europe and New York at institutions including the Museum of Arts and Design (New York), the Vitra Design Museum (Germany), and the Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris), among others. She has written for various museum and exhibition catalogs, and has presented lectures on design at conferences worldwide. Some of her presentation topics include: “Divine Design” (University of Art and Design, Kyoto, 2008); “Humor in Design” (Museum of Arts and Design, New York, 2006); “On Creativity” (Forum Alpbach, Austria, 2007); “Eva Zeisel & Co: The Female Condition in Modern Design” (Pratt Gallery, New York, 2006); “Isamu Noguchi, Designer: A Fish in Different Waters” (Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, 2004); among others.
