Biography

Design Director and Executive Vice President of Taylor & Ives, Inc., a leading design firm, specializing in branding and corporate identity projects, annual reports, and prestigious corporate literature. She designs for leading American and international Fortune 500 corporations like: The New York Stock Exchange, Marsh & McLennan, PNC Bank Corp, Hershey Food Corporation, Lockheed Martin, Pharmacia Corp., Sony USA, Chase Securities, Siemens Corp., KKR, Credit Union, The Shubert Organization for the Shubert Theatre and NBC Today Shaw, to name a few.

Ms. Zamir’s motto, as a design director, as well as, a teacher of design, is that graphic design should provide creative solutions that are based on a clear understanding of the corporate message, and to communicate it succinctly and effectively.

During her professional career, Ms Zamir always combined business with teaching. While managing her own design office in Israel, she was also a professor of design at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, and currently she is a tenured professor at the Graduate School of Design. The experience and insight gained, from both fields of professional activities, led Ms. Zamir to develop her own unique methodology of teaching, to the benefit of her students who wish to join the professional world of design. In all of the courses that are thought by Ms. Zamir, she focuses on real life projects, at times for real clients, which are similar to those that her students can expect to encounter when they join the working world. Students, who complete Ms. Zamir’s courses, all produce a body of work that is critical and instrumental in the process of entering the profession of design.

Ms. Zamir’s body of work and writings are known and recognized in Great Britain and Israel, where she was also a member of the board of directors of the Israeli Institute of Packaging and Industrial Design, whose main purpose was to enhance and improve the quality of design in Israel, especially, of goods and packaging, intended for export.

In the USA, she contributed articles to various professional magazines, and her designs have appeared in numerous publications such as Graphics Today, IR, Idea, and Modern Packaging. Among the many organizations, and professional bodies, who have recognized and honored Ms. Zamir for design excellence are: Creativity, Andy, Desi, Gold Quill, Neographics, American Corporate Identity, ARC and Art Directors Club of Los Angeles.

She has lectured around the world, and recently has been invited, for the third consecutive year, to lecture and judge students’ work in a design competition in Taiwan.
