Monte Gibbs is a digital media strategist & commercial web technologist passionate about creating new online markets, engaging web communities and sustainable revenue channels that consumers want, and providing them with original products, unique services and valuable content consumers can experience only online

Recognized industry-wide for launching wildly popular web-based consumer products, online/casual games and commercial media, entertainment and retail/ecommerce services, Gibbs leverages his extensive knowledge of web-based technologies, his commitment to product innovation, and unique ability to assess future market trends in consumer online behavior toward creating some of the most successful products, services and environments online. Gibbs possesses a unique combination of corporate enterprise, professional consulting and start-up experience, and has developed a successful industry track record of generating unique online consumer strategies and creative technical solutions that leverage powerful data and market intelligence to produce tremendously loyal and revenue-generating web-based communities, audiences and channels. Gibbs specialty is in developing original online communities that enable revenue opportunities around consumer-recognized brands and services. As a technical architect and “creative design technologist”, Gibbs develops elegant technical solutions that enable the convergence of concept, creativity, commercial product strategy and technical innovation. Gibbs is the former Chief Technology Officer for MyLife.com (formerly Reunion.com) where he revitalized the company’s brand value enabling the site to become one of comScore’s “Top 10 social networking sites” while helping double revenues. As Vice President of Technology and Product Development, Gibbs launched the first branded e-commerce platform for MTV Networks Neopets (unit of Viacom), making it one of the “stickiest kids’ entertainment sites on the Web” during his tenure. At Idea Integration, Gibbs established and directed a nationwide media and entertainment solutions practice, implementing digital media product strategies for clients such as Disney, Sony, CBS, Microsoft, MTV, ESPN, NewsCorp, Fox and Hearst Publishing. Prior to Idea, Gibbs held the position of CTO at enterprise application management leader RevX.Net and at Zydeco.com, a software company Gibbs founded for the online retail marketplace in the 1990’s. Gibbs acquired his intense knowledge of technology and commercial web product design early in his career as a developer and architect at MCI and IBM. Gibbs has been an integral part of the Design Management graduate program at Pratt Institute in New York City since 2003, where he serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor providing “Strategic Technology”, his signature course on design strategy, technical innovation and environmental and economic sustainability. Gibbs is a recognized presenter and frequent speaker at industry conferences including the Web Innovation and Casual Games Developers Conference events. His prior topics have included “Creating Sustainable Innovation,” “Leveraging Social Media for Channel Programs & Market Awareness”, and “Engineering for Casual Games Development;” Gibbs is also a technical advisor to several national nonprofit organizations and is actively involved in contributing his time and efforts toward enabling nonprofits and cause-based organizations via technical guidance, strategy and planning. Gibbs, a native of Atlanta, GA, attended Appalachian State University in North Carolina with a focus in Computer Science. He was awarded a National Science Foundation Technology Grant for study at the CERN Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland, birthplace of the World Wide Web. Gibbs has worked and resided previously in New York City, Atlanta, London, Nashville, Seattle and Washington D.C. He currently maintains residences in both Los Angeles and New York City.
