Biography

Ms. Kasak founded Interim Design, an architectural and interior design practice based upon her undergraduate thesis “An Interim Architecture,” which addressed the 15 Year War in Lebanon and the proceeding redevelopment of the center of Beirut.  The practice  focuses on the  communication of information through spatial design and the notion that we are all living in an interim state, one which is constantly evolving and reacting to our surroundings and our lives.  She has worked for I.M. Pei, Rafael Vigñoly, she represents Atelier Christian de Portzamparc in New York for U.S. projects.

Ms. Kasak held the winning entry for the international theoretical competition “Unbuilt Architecture” with her “Lightninghouse” design in 1994 and has been published several times in “Abstract” The Columbia University annual design publication.  She holds a Masters Degree  [MSAAD] from Columbia and a BArch and a BFA from The Rhode Island School of Design.  She is a Visiting Associate Professor at Pratt Institute where she teaches and coordinates the Sophomore Interior Design Studio Program, and an  Adjunct Assistant Professor at  Columbia University, GSAPP.
