Biography

Evan Neely studied both Twentieth Century and Northern European Renaissance Art, as well as post-Enlightenment political and aesthetic theory. His most recent work investigates the relationships between nineteenth century American literature and twentieth century painting and new genres. He has taught courses at Columbia University, Parsons School of Design, and the Museum of Modern Art, on a variety of subjects, including modern and postmodern art, the history of ethical and political theory, and Enlightenment aesthetics. He is currently Core Lecturer for Art Humanities at Columbia University in addition to teaching at Pratt.
