Personal URLhttp://www.AboutTheBuzz.comEducationM.F.A., BiographyJenny Lynn McNutt has shown her sculpture, painting and multimedia performances, in Paris, Rome, Milan, Dublin, Eastern Europe and nationally. Her solo shows in New York have been with Emily Sorkin, Florence Lynch and Robert Pardo Galleries. Since 2005 McNutt has had numerous exhibits & performances in Tunisia, North Africa. Among her awards are a Fulbright Fellowship to West and Central Africa, for which she won an Eastman Foundation Grant for documentary work. . Other grants include the William Talbot Hillman Foundation, Pratt Institute, and several residencies at the Harwood Museum in Taos, New Mexico. “Precise Breathing or Why I Call My Baby Honey”, a multimedia project about the honeybee and our relationship to it premiered at the Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit, NJ.This May 2009 “Nektar” a group of new sculptures opened at the Arboretum. Among the new works is “Let Honey Overflow in Infinite Tongues and Let the Ocean Become a Hive”, a 100 ft gesture insinuated in a Sugar Maple tree. In 2008 her documentary “The Dreamtree Project, a walking tour of a sustainable community”, was shown nightly during Green Week at Pratt Institute. The documentary was first shown in 2006 at the Taos Solar Film Fest. Currently she teaches at Pratt Institute, New York Studio School and Pace University. She attended Yale School of Art. |
