Biography

Martin Mazorra of New York, is co-founder of Cannonball Press. Martin is currently the Coordinator of Printmaking at Parson’s School of Design in New York City where he teaches lithography, woodcut, and letterpress printmaking. He is the mastermind behind the cross-institutional print exchange “Swaptropolis”.

Martin Mazorra teaches printmaking and is the Printmaking Coordinator for ParsonÂ’s School of Design in New York City. His MFA is from American University in Washington D.C. He is the co-founder of Cannonball Press, an online source for print collectors seeking affordable works. Since 1999, Mazorra has collaborated with over thirty national and international artists to produce over three hundred and fifty limited editions of silk screens and woodcuts. In the wake of Cannonball PressÂ’s momentum, the growing list of exhibitions include: Parnu, Estonia, Seoul South Korea, Johannesburg, South Africa, Tokyo, Japan, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Honolulu, St Louis, Kansas City, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Portland, ME, Washington DC, Raleigh, Winston Salem, Chapel Hill, Greensborough, NC, Madison WI, New Orleans, LA, Lexington, KY, Amherst, MA. Martin has also taught at State university of New York, New Paltz, Dartmouth College, NH, the American University, Italy, and the Chautauqua Institute. He has been invited to speak as a visiting artist at Auburn, AL, SCAD Atlanta, Amherst college, MA, and the University of Kentucky. Awards for his studio practice include a Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation space program studio in 1999 and a 2007 NYFA Fellowship in Printmaking, Drawing and Artist Books.
