Biography

 


Michele Gorman is an Artist and Visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute School of Architecture. Based in New York, she is currently collaborating on public art projects in the United States and abroad. She is currently collaborating on “Shakespeare Machine”, a multimedia artwork for the Public Theater in New York City, “Now Boarding”, an exploration of the past, present and future of airport design.


 


Michele Gorman is an architect who practices art and architecture in New York. She received her M.Arch from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI in 2006. She was invited to attend the China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, China in the summer of 2005 to make proposals for the city of Feng Du, along the Yangtze River. She has since worked with Evan Douglis on his published FLORA FLEX installation and most recently as designer for NASA architect Garrett Finney on a light weight travel trailer prototype. She was commissioned by RISD and the City of Providence Department of Planning and Development in 2006 to submit a proposal for the “Providence River Catalyst Project.” She has previously taught drawing at CUNY: New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn and currently teaches at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
