International Facilities Management
International Facilities Management
Organizations are increasingly operating in a global context and across national and cultural borders. As a consequence, it is important for professionals working in the various fields of the Built Environment (Facilities, Planning, Architecture, Planning, Preservation, Design, Construction or Real Estate) to understand the challenges and opportunities that arise when working across international and cultural boundaries.
The Alliance of Graduate Studies in FM/RE is a coalition of accredited programs in Facilities Management and Real Estate (RM/RE) in several continents that offer intensive course modules for students enrolled in a master’s program or in the 3rd/4th year of a bachelor’s program. Each intensive course module has a duration of 1 to 2 weeks and combines lectures by industry professionals with site visits to high-profile facilities. Students of different nationalities and backgrounds work jointly on a related research project.
The intensive courses are designed to offer all students, including those with full-time jobs, the opportunity to study abroad and to develop an appreciation for the challenges that arise when working in diverse, international teams.
