Center for Sustainable Design Studies

CSDS serves as a physical and virtual hub for Pratt’s commitment to educate environmentally responsible citizens.  CSDS encourages the use of Pratt’s campus as a living laboratory linking the classroom to campus initiatives. The CSDS houses a materials research center that supports faculty, students and alumni in the integration of sustainability into their professional lives. CSDS is also the home of the Pratt Design Incubator for Sustainable Innovation founded in 2002. We also are the hub for faculty and student groups including:

• Envirolution: Student led sustainability club
• Sustainable Pratt: All institute group 
• Interns for Change: CSDS sustainability consultants
• LEAP: Environmental advocacy group
• Sift Journal: Sustainability Journal

EDUCATION – CSDS continues to integrate sustainability as critical layer of thinking throughout Pratt's programs, educate our faculty and alumni and use the Pratt campus as a "Living Laboratory" linking the greening of Pratt's Campus to interdisciplinary studios. ENTERPRISE – The Pratt Design Incubator for Sustainable Innovation links business development to environmental/social entrepreneurship and strategic innovation. The “Incubator” is located at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
