The Department of Exhibitions organizes exhibitions in the Pratt Manhattan Gallery located in 144 West 14th Street, New York City; and the Rubelle and Norman Schafler Gallery and President's Office galleries located on the Brooklyn campus. Exhibitions and events are free and open to the public.

Design Jazz: Improvisations
on the Urban Street

Inspired by the newly created department of Academic Sustainability at Pratt Institute, this exhibition in two parts will document both theoretical and creative approaches to the design of urban streets by invited guests Amy Guggenheim, artist, writer and professor, Pratt Institute; Mitchell Joachim, architect, designer and co-founder Terraform One; and Leon Reid IV, street artist, teacher, and Pratt alumnus, as well as document the process of a local realized project.

A new tradition in the Pratt Manhattan Gallery, this cabaret produced by Larry Litt will celebrate our urban environment with music, comedy and performance.

This exhibition will survey the work of artists and designers (many of whom are based in New York) who explore practical and symbolic solutions to the question of integrating sustainable practices into the fashion system.

Envelopes will feature designs that explore new potentials of the architectural surface in terms of the skin of a building and also as a skin that envelopes the body. On display will be full-scale, interactive models accompanied by architectural renderings in the form of drawings and computer animations,  and documentation of the process of investigation into these models.
